So have you made a new year’s resolution to exercise more, get out in the fresh air more or generally get off the sofa more?
Well those of you who came to see panto will have seen the new bar area and how much bigger it is. You will also see how much work there is still left to do!
As members of the Talisman Theatre, not everyone is there to go on stage. Some people prefer to work behind the scenes, others support shows as audience members, front of house, etc. Whatever you do, it’s about community and friendship.
We’d like to expand on that and help the works with a fundraiser this year. We’re planning to enter a group into the Two Castles 10k run on Sunday 11th June. The run starts at Warwick Castle and ends at Kenilworth Castle.
It is a challenging run but we have six months to prepare and the hardest part is getting off the sofa and out of the house!
Everyone will be responsible for their own training and fitness but we will meet every Sunday morning at 10:30 at Coventry Memorial Park for a group training. This will start on Sunday 29th January.
If you haven’t run before or if you’re out of practise, there is the Couch 2 5K App to follow, or both Kenilworth and Earlsdon Running Clubs run beginners courses. We also have experienced runners who can provide guidance.
You will need to apply for your place for Two Castles 10k once the applications open.
If you’d like to get involved but not run, we’ll need drivers on the day to take us to Warwick, we’ll need cheerleaders and supporters along the route and finish line. Or if you’d simply like to support through sponsorship, we will share a JustGiving link nearer the time.
